Tim Bennett of Mississippi-based Overtime Sports said Tuesday that he hopes to complete his purchase of the Diamond Jaxx by the middle of March.

Bennett is headed to Florida next week, specifically Orlando, to continue meeting with those parties possibly interested in helping him purchase the team.

Bennett said those parties do not include Seth Bernstein, president of Stromberg, a subsidiary of Paychex Inc., who was said earlier to have an interest in purchasing Jackson's Double-A franchise.

He added that "the Orlando meeting is not necessarily with people from Orlando. It is just a convenient place to meet."

After Florida, Bennett said he is jetting to Arizona to meet with Cubs owners. He said he expects to return to Jackson sometime between March 10 and 15.

Lozinak Baseball Properties is asking $12.5 million for the local Chicago Cubs franchise.

The Jaxx open at home in 53 days on April 17.
